Official Groups enable you to create structure within your Zinc Organization. Organization Admins and Team Admins can manually create Official Groups from the Admin Console. Additionally, Official Groups can be created via an External Directory Integration Group Sync.
Official Groups have administrators assigned to them, can have broadcasts sent to them, are marked by a blue check throughout all apps in the Zinc platform, and have custom Clear settings. None of the aforementioned capabilities are afforded to unofficial 'ad-hoc groups' (or 'named conversations), which any user can create in the Zinc apps simply by naming a conversation.
What is the relationship between the different Admin tiers and Official Groups and folders?
Organization Admins have administrative privileges to every folder and group in their organization. They can also assign or revoke Team Admins and Broadcasters administrative privileges over any folder or group in their organization.
Team Admins have administrative privileges to any folder and group they create or any folder or group to which they have been assigned admin privileges. They can also assign or revoke administrative privileges to those folders and groups.
Broadcasters have administrative privileges to any folder and group to which they have been assigned admin privileges, but they cannot create folders or groups.
If you are Team Admin or Broadcaster who has admin privileges to a folder, then you also have admin privileges to every Official Group within that folder.
If you are a Team Admin or Broadcaster who has admin privileges to an Official Group within a folder, you do not automatically have admin privileges to that folder or any of the other Official Groups within that folder.
